Eyebrow Trimmer Purchasing List
You can only find a perfect electric eyebrow trimmer if you do your research extensively. Don’t get lured into buying just because the trimmer comes with fancy add-ons. There are eyebrow trimmers that will pack a host of features, but they will perform dismally. There are integral features that will tell you whether the trimmer is up to the task and good value for your money.

Battery Power
There are many electric eyebrow trimmer brands that come cordless. This makes the trimmer portable. However, the fact that it’s cordless doesn’t mean it cannot perform optimally.
When charged properly, the trimmer can run for hours before you need to recharge. Without the cord, it’s easy to trim your brows withou any hassle. If you notice that the battery’s performance is dwindling, you can replace it.

Blade Quality
A good electric trimmer will cut your brow hair without pulling it. As such, you won’t have to worry about irritation, discomfort or ingrown hairs. Your trimmer should come with rotary blades that are ever sharp. This means no pulling on your brow hairs even when you have used the trimmer on several occasions.
The electric trimmer is supposed to cut the brow hair at the sides and the top. You can pick stainless steel blades that come with excellent quality and the self-sharpening capability. If you have super sensitive skin, you can choose blades made out of hypoallergenic metal.
Usability
The electric eyebrow trimmer is in itself a tiny gadget. Although they are portable, check out whether the desired trimmer comes with all the usability features you need. You want the trimmer with an exceptional grip such that it’s easy to maneuver the eyebrow and cut according to your preference.
If it doesn’t offer a non-slip feature, it could slip off the hand and cause irreparable damage. It’s important that you pick the one that can be adapted into a good nose or ear hair trimmer. Remember, you should have a trimmer that you can throw into your utility bag and enjoy comfort on the move.
Cleaning Features
Electric eyebrow trimmers require frequent cleaning and maintenance. Even if you are using it for eyebrow trimming exclusively, make sure it can withstand cleaning in water or at least pick the type you can submerge in water. There are other features that enhance the suitability of an electric eyebrow trimmer.
Check whether you want one that has a vacuum mechanism to collect the hairs you trim and don’t forget to check whether it comes with a shock resistant quality since its prone to falls and bumps.
Some of the good electric eyebrow trimmers are from brand Veet, Panasonic, Philips, Braun and few others also which you can pick consodering your need and the above specifications. There are multipurpose trimmers as well. Next time when you are looking for an electric trimmer for eyebrow, face or bikini line make sure they meet all the above requirements.

How To Trim Eyebrows (Quick Easy Method For Men)
You may not know this unless you do it regularly, but trimming your eyebrows and nose hairs can make a huge difference in your appearance.
If you think about it, you get a haircut regularly, you shave or trim your facial hair regularly… why shouldn’t the other hair on your head also get the same attention?
So in this article, I’m going to show you how to trim your eyebrows. My quick and easy method will get you in and out of the bathroom in no time.
Things You Need Before Trimming
Let’s start with the things you need to properly trim your eyebrows.
- Two overgrown eyebrows
- One index finger, attached to your hand
- Water
- One pair of eyebrow / facial hair scissors (Alternatives: a beard trimmer, or an electric razor with a trimmer attachment)
- Optional, but helpful: An eyebrow or eyelash brush
- Optional, but helpful: Eyebrow gel
- Optional, but helpful: A good set of tweezers
How to Trim Your Eyebrows, Step by Step
Step 1: Wet your eyebrow
Slightly moisten your eyebrow by placing your finger under running water, and then rubbing the eyebrow hair in the direction of the growth, so they get wet.
Step 2: Push the eyebrow hair up
Once your eyebrow is sufficiently wet (the hair is damp, but you shouldn’t be dripping wet), use the index finger of your non-dominant hand to push the eyebrow hairs up, in the opposite direction of the growth.
Better alternative: If you have an eyebrow brush, you can use that tool to do the same thing by brushing the hairs up, in the opposite direction of the growth. This will give you more control and ensure you get each hair the first time around.
Step 3: Trim with your tool of choice (twice)
Trim with your scissors any eyebrow hairs that go beyond the trim line created by your finger (or, if using the eyebrow brush, any hairs that are clearly longer than the majority).
After your first pass with the scissors, brush the hairs back to their normal position, and then back up again so they’re standing up, against the grain. This is just to make sure you didn’t miss any stray long hairs that need to be cut.
If you find any stray eyebrow hairs you missed on your first pass, trim those.
Step 4: Brush back in the right direction
Brush your eyebrow hairs back to its normal growth direction and position, either with your index finger or the brow brush.
All done!
Hop in the shower, or splash your face with some water to get rid of all the trimmed hair.
Also, make sure to clean up the sink! Wipe it down and rinse all the hair down the drain so anyone you live with doesn’t have to deal with your mess
Optional Steps to Consider
Shape your brow with gel
Use an eyebrow gel to get fine-grain control over how your eyebrow is shaped. If you have unruly brow hairs, or you just want to make sure everything is neat and in its place, I highly recommend an eyebrow gel. I use the one from Stryx.
Tame those facial hairs—beard, moustache, eyebrows—with this combo gel and unique brush applicator tip. Super simple to use and keeps you looking nice and groomed.
Pluck any strays below the brow
Grab your pair of tweezers and pluck any stray hairs below the eyebrow, right above your eyelid. Avoid over-plucking and shaping the eyebrow because it can look overdone… you want to pluck just the stray hairs that aren’t part of the main eyebrow.

When To Trim Eyebrows
You can use this method at any time. It’s super quick and really easy. I personally prefer doing it before I shower, or if I need to shave / wash my face, I do it right before.
You will have stray hairs on your face as you trim, so you just want to wash or brush that off (assuming you’re not hopping in the shower right after).

FAQs About Eyebrow maintenance
Are guys supposed to trim eyebrows?
Yes. Just like the hair on your head and on your chin, your eyebrows grow, so they’ll need proper maintenance. A quick trim like what I described above is all you need to keep your eyebrows looking clean and neat.
What length should men’s eyebrows be trimmed?
If you’re using the method I mentioned above, your eyebrows should be trimmed no lower than the line parallel with the index finger (the finger you use to push the eyebrow hairs up, against the grain).
Can I use a beard trimmer on my eyebrows?
Yes, you can use a beard trimmer to trim your eyebrows. Follow the same steps I mentioned above.
After using your index finger to push the hairs up and against the grain, instead of using eyebrow scissors, use your beard trimmer to trim the hairs that have grown past the “line” created by your finger.
The ultimate tool to manage your beard, stubble, and body hair. The Beardscape makes an excellent hair trimmer and is perfect for any of your “manscaping” needs.
Technically, you can trim your eyebrows by shaving them with your beard trimmer assuming you have a long enough guard, but this is a different method we’re not covering in this article.
If you want to trim your eyebrows with a beard trimmer, go for it! But be careful because you don’t want to cut them too short. I’d suggest starting with a guard that’s longer and then working your way down to shorter and shorter guards.
The Brio Beardscape I use has multiple guards of varying lengths, so you’d be able to do it with this trimmer for sure.
It’s hard to tell exactly how long you’ll be shaving them down with a beard trimmer unless you have experience. My quick and easy eyebrow trimming method I mentioned above using your finger and facial hair scissors is much more foolproof.
Conclusion
I hope this quick guide about how to trim your eyebrows helped! Of course, there are several ways to get the job done. I just prefer this quick and easy method that I can use after I shave, or before / after I take a shower.
Have you tried this method? Or maybe you have a different one? Let me know. You can reach me on Instagram DMs at any time.
The Best Electric Eyebrow Trimmers for Bushy Brows
Have you been on an ongoing search for the best brow trimmer to handle hairy eyebrows? Lucky for you, we compiled a comprehensive list of the top eyebrow trimmers for men, detailing any pros (like whether or not they can handle thick eyebrow hair) and cons. The goal here is to make your life easier, save you all that time you normally would have spent searching the internet, and leave you feeling confident in your skin as a man with big, beautiful brows.
Our top pick for the best electric eyebrow trimmer would go to The Philips Norelco electric eyebrow trimmer, however, there are many other great options to get the job done.
Note that while some men choose to use a razor or other hair removal methods to groom their eyebrows, this option is nowhere near as precise as a trimmer, and it certainly can’t handle big, bushy brows. Using a razor on your brows can also lead to more skin irritation. Most importantly, if your facial hair (including the brows) is coarse and thick, it is important to choose a trimmer that can handle the larger hair shaft.
Here are the three primary types of eyebrow trimmers for men you may encounter:
- Manual trimmer: This is an eco-friendly option; the manual trimmer has both a lever and sharp blades to handle any excess eyebrow hair.
- Corded trimmer: This type of trimmer is the better option for shorter hair; one con of corded trimmers is that they are not as compact as the manual option.
- Battery-operated: This is another eco-friendly option, and it is the best choice for on-the-go grooming; more often than not, battery-operated trimmers will come with rechargeable batteries; they are precise and convenient to use.
Here is a list of some of the best eyebrow cutters and brow trimmers for men with thick eyebrow hair:

My name is Kevin and I am a full-time professional firefighter. Many might not know but firefighters are required to be clean-shaved for every shift that we work. With the exception of a mustache (which I sport every no-shave November), we aren’t able to grow much facial hair. If you’d like to read my short bio, click here.
Why You Need An Eyebrow Trimmer
Making sure our eyebrows are looking their best is not all about the powders, tints and creams that we put into them as part of our makeup routine. Regularly grooming your eyebrows is where it all begins… maintaining your natural shape and taming unwieldy hairs is essential to having great brows. Waxing, threading and tweezing are the traditional ways in which we clean up our eyebrows, but two of these options cost time and money while the other is not only annoying but can actually cause more trouble than it’s worth. For those in-between visits to your waxer, for those of us that never seem to have time to make it to a waxer in the first place, and for you tweezer-happy people out there, eyebrow trimmers are a simple at-home solution to your brow maintenance needs.
THE TROUBLE WITH TWEEZING
Waxing and threading are common ways of keeping our eyebrows groomed but the trouble is the wait for your hair to grow back before you can have it done again, not to mention the cost of regularly making trips to the aesthetician. A lot of us turn to tweezing for quick up-keep when we can’t make a professional appointment because it’s an affordable, at-home, easy option for keeping your eyebrows clean. But easy doesn’t always do it. Tweezing decreases the odds of hair regrowth, which is why girls who grew up in the thin-brow craze of the 90’s often have sparse eyebrows now. Tweezing really should be exclusively reserved for hairs that you don’t want to grow back, like the ones you find between your brows that cause a unibrow or the ones falling outside of your natural arch. What’s more, tweezing (and waxing) can cause ingrown hairs: hairs that grow back in on themselves or sideways into the skin, below its surface. Removing ingrowns can be anything from time-consuming to downright painful.
WHAT ARE EYEBROW TRIMMERS?
Eyebrow trimmers come in various forms and, unlike tweezing, won’t disturb hair regrowth or cause ingrown hairs. It’s equally as cost-effective as tweezing with none of the potential side effects. You’ll find two main types of eyebrow trimmers: electric devices that take the bulk away from bushy brows or handheld manual tools like eyebrow trimming scissors or eyebrow razors that can address even your arch. Electric brow trimmers are usually facial hair trimmers with an attachment for grooming eyebrows. Depending on how far you want to take your at-home grooming will inform what kind of tool you’ll need.

WHO SHOULD CONSIDER AN EYEBROW TRIMMER?
Let’s be honest here, eyebrows grow quickly and we all have busy schedules. But if you want your brows to be on point, you’ve got to keep them trimmed and groomed so they stay in place. And it’s not just men that have to keep bushy brows in check. For women, getting rid of extra length defines and contours the brow shape. Eyebrow trimmers are quick and easy at-home grooming tools that help ensure your brows are clean and tidy. Sure you can use a comb and scissors, but using this method to achieve the right shape and length is more difficult than it needs to be. You also don’t want to risk removing the wrong hair. Ever plucked just one hair and ruined the entire shape of your brow? Now imagine that with a scissor-full of hair.
THE BEST EYEBROW TRIMMERS
Our brows come in different lengths, widths and hair types, so our trimming needs aren’t all the same. There are three basic types of trimming tools that are worth considering: the electric trimmer, eyebrow scissors and eyebrow razors.
ELECTRIC EYEBROW TRIMMERS
Electric trimmers are used specifically for trimming the bushiness out of your brow. They can be used wet or dry, and most can be adjusted to the length that you need. Electric trimmers are super easy to use and really great for those of us with thick and/or curly hair that gets out of hand quickly.
This facial trimmer comes with two snap-on precision combs that not only trim your eyebrows but can be used for shaping as well. The super-thin hypoallergenic blades are smooth and non-irritating on even the most sensitive and delicate areas of your skin. It’s an affordable option that’s compact enough to fit in your purse.
This trimmer can be used on any unwanted hair on the lips, eyebrow, chin and face. The eyebrow attachment includes 2 and 4 mm options, depending on how short you want to take your length, and the precision trimming attachment can be adjusted to get even closer and shape your arch. This is a cost-effective option by Philips, a big brand in men’s facial grooming.
EYEBROW SCISSORS WITH COMBS
These trimming tools are an alternative to brushing your eyebrow hair upward and cutting them with scissors. Instead, you can use these with only one hand to trim long, stray brows. While these take a little maneuvering to figure out how to use, they’re great for traveling and work wonders once you’ve got them figured out.
Made from stainless steel for durability and low maintenance in terms of cleaning, this eyebrow scissor has a comb on one hand for brushing out your hair and a razor on the other for removing any outliers. Ergonomically designed with a comfortable handle these Seki Edge trimmers are easy to work with.
This set covers all of your eyebrow essentials: a tweezer plus brush and comb as well as eyebrow scissors. Perfect for traveling, you can clean up your eyebrows with the tweezer, trim them with the stainless steel eyebrow scissors, tame them with the comb and blend makeup with the soft-bristle brush.
EYEBROW RAZORS
An eyebrow razor takes a little more precision, but using these babies you won’t have to make a trip to your aesthetician for months at a time. Razors made specifically for your brows are incredibly inexpensive for what they accomplish: you can use these to maintain not just the bushiness of your brows but also your shape and your arch. Bonus: most of these can also be used on your lip and any delicate areas on the face!
Basically the OG of razors for your brow. The stainless steel blade removes unwanted hair so precisely you can use these to maintain the shape of your brows for months at a time. You can use one razor quite a few times if you keep them clean with rubbing alcohol, so a pack of three should last a few months –more than cost effective for less than ten bucks.
These Made in the USA eyebrow razors give a 1/8” shave for closeness and accuracy. It’s ergonomically shaped for ease of use and boasts raving customer reviews. A little more expensive than the made in China options, the Stiles Razor is perfectly shaped for other small areas such as your upper lip so it’s multi-functional.
FINAL THOUGHTS
What seems like such a little step isn’t always an obvious one but keeping your brows groomed really is the frontline for great eyebrows. Whether you have bushy brows that require regular trimming or you need a little help maintaining your brows at home, eyebrow trimmers are an affordable and easy alternative to tweezing that can cause ingrown hairs and hinder hair regrowth.
