KREG 1220mm Accu-Cut Rail Guide System KR-KMA2700. Kreg circular saw track
Your experiences with Kreg Accu-cut ?
So I bought the the Kreg Accu-cut to use with my DeWALT circular saw. Bought this to not spend the for a “real” track saw.
Have used it a few times now, and must say I’m not really happy with it….
I making a vanity for our guest bathroom, the top is 1in Walnut, 1824, glued up out of 4 boards. Made it oversize, and was trying to cut it to final size with the Accu-cut and circular saw. Problem is, even though the accucut guide has the rubber strips on the bottom, which supposedly stop it from moving, they really don’t… Had a hell of a time to get the cuts really straight.
Thinking about getting a proper track saw, I figure that even the cheapest one from WEN can do better than what I have right now.

I had both the Accu cut and the Accu rip. They were oK but I became frustrated with accuracy and dust collection. I sold them both on CL and bought a Festool track saw. I have not regretted that decision!

There’s been a few that tried the wen and liked it.
I mostly like kreg stuff but accucut seems to get people hope up a little too much.

I have the Accu-cut and I like it alright. I was able to make accurate and straight cuts with it, breaking down sheet goods. I wouldn’t mind owning a track saw but I just like the compactness of the Accu-cut.
RichT
As noted above, it can be clamped. The track slots will fit any t-track clamp that uses a 1/4″ bolt with a hex head or a regular t-bolt. Lots of options out there from WoodRiver, Incra, etc.
Standard track clamps like those from Festool won’t fit.
AGolden
I have one and it works alright for my purposes. However, I don’t use it frequently and its usually not for something that needs to be critically accurate so perhaps I am not pushing its limits.

I have both the accu cut and rip. They’re fine for the price. I have a tiny workspace, so I figured it was a good compromise. I haven’t been a huge fan of how the circular saw locks into the guide, but it’s only been a problem on maybe 2 occasions.
I don’t know if the tracks were totally justified. I just saw they are considered an “upgrade” over WEN’s tracks. I would’ve liked to have seen them side by side to see they are truly better.
I can already see the benefits of upgrading to a track saw. Even if it’s one on the lower end of the quality spectrum. Because I’ve had my circular saw come out of alignment on the guide a couple times, I’m always worried it’s going to happen. With everything locked down on the track saw, it’s no longer a concern for me.

I have the Kreg rip-cut but haven’t yet pullet the trigger on the Accu-cut which I’m considering. The rip-cut seems well thought out from a design standpoint but it’s a little on the flimsy side. I used it to rip a 24″ wide LVL into three ~8″ beams and it did reasonably well (the saw was more than up to the task) but wasn’t very confidence inspiring. Any track system I get, ideally for one of my saws I already have, would need to be quite robust, I don’t care what it weighs. I need to be able to edge boards from the sawmill, often 3″ hardwood while keeping the saw blade very, very parallel with the track. I suspect if I could even find one, a powerful track saw with 3″ capacity would be priced above average. A full sized board edger with that capacity over 10K isn’t in the cards yet, nor do I need the throughput capacity of such a machine, yet.

I hate the damn thing… And I’m a fan of most Kreg stuff.
I used to own a Ridgid worm drive and now own a DeWALT worm drive style cordless. Both have a curved lip on the front of the shoe and the Kreg won’t consistently connect to either.
Instead of buying a track saw, you can build a track-like guide to use with your existing saw.
I just used 1/4″ MDF for the base, a piece of aluminum U-channel, filled with some QS oak, as my fence. The fence sits in a shallow groove I cut with a dado set. It is screwed in from underneath, into the oak. I also made it long on one piece, and I can screw the two sections together, to make an 8′ track. The two sides match the base of my saw, either side of the blade. They were cut to size after the fence was installed, by simply running the saw down each side. I clamp it to my workpiece with a pair of small Bessey F-style clamps.
DevinT
I guess I have the Accu-rip (is that right? See video)
That was the first and only time I’ve used it. You will notice I had to pull out a hand saw and a block plane to fix the end, but that was my fault because I veered off (whenever I use a new tool in my 48 square foot shop, I have to learn how to keep it. and me. from bumping into things).
I will definitely be using it again the next time I have to rip something. I could see taking it to the hardware store in the event that the in-store panel saw is out of service.
I primarily need it for breaking down 8-foot sheets into more manageable 2-foot x 4-foot panels.
MichaelTT
Well in the mean time I got the set of clamps for the accu-cut, and I must say with those, the whole thing works fairly well. So for the time being, I will hold off on the dedicated track saw…
OldBull
I took a look at kreg for breaking down larger stuff, I found this video that discusses some problems and fixes for track accuracy and attatchment to the saw.
KLF
I bought one a couple of years ago when building some cabinets. It worked, but I found it very awkward and frustrating. Shame on Kreg for selling this thing without the clamps, there’s no way that track will sit still without them. Was it a bad purchase? Meh, it worked OK.
I have a Makita track saw on order now (who knows when I’ll see it though). I had to use the Kreg thing the other day, and now I’ve really begun to hate it. It will be on craigslist as soon as the track saw arrives.

Prior to track saws that was the only game in town, and literally miles of sheet goods were cut accurately using shoes just like them. If you go 2 sided you can also add a ledge to run a router for making dado’s on sheet goods. The thing to know there is if you start with a specific bit, say 25/32, you have to stay with that bit. But if you are banging out cabinets and are making dado’s for shelves, you pretty much stick with the same thickness throughout.
Nothing quicker than cutting dado’s across the entire sheet, and ripping out the sides to your cabinet after. Always equally spaced, and proper height on every shelf.

Description
Transform your circular saw into a high-performance, track-guided cutting system:
Start projects right by making straight, accurate, splinter-free cuts with your circular saw and the Accu-Cut Circular Saw Guide Track System. It rips, crosscuts and makes angled cuts up to 48″ long in plywood, MDF, and other large panels with super simple setup, precise accuracy, and amazing control.
The Accu-Cut guides your circular saw along an aluminium track that keeps the saw moving easily in a straight line. The Accu-Cut design makes it simple to set up by just aligning the track with your cut line. No clamps are required to hold the track in place thanks to dual guide strips. They feature an anti-slip coating to prevent slipping, and an anti-chip feature to prevent splintered cuts. Plus, the track makes it easy to make straight cuts on sheets that don’t have a straight, flat edge.
Circular saws don’t have effective guides that keep them moving straight along a cut line. Plus, it can be difficult to see the blade’s cutting path. Together, these things make it challenging to keep a saw on your desired cut. Circular saws also often cause splintering of face veneers. The Accu-Cut solves these problems. The Accu-Cut is portable, too, so you can take your saw to the workpiece and cut with precision, rather than having to handle heavy sheets on a table saw.
The Accu-Cut is easy and intuitive for a novice to use, but robust enough for professionals. Because it eliminates the need to keep the saw straight and manually guide the saw along a cut line, the Accu-Cut is ideal for less-experienced users. Accu-Cut also makes professionals faster and more productive because it makes a variety of cuts quickly and easily in the shop and on the job site.

Precision Cutting Solution
Circular saws don’t have effective guides that keep them moving straight along a cut line. Plus, it can be difficult to see the blade’s cutting path. Together, these things make it challenging to keep a saw on your desired cut. Circular saws also often cause splintering of face veneers. The Accu-Cut solves these problems by providing a circular saw guide, and it’s portable, too, so you can take your saw to the workpiece and cut with precision, rather than having to handle heavy sheets on a table saw.
The Accu-Cut is easy and intuitive for a novice to use, but robust enough for professionals. Accu-Cut also makes professionals faster and more productive because it makes a variety of cuts fast and easily in the shop and on the job site.

Kreg circular saw track
Coming soon, the Kreg Accu-Cut circular saw guide track system helps to make cleaner, straighter, splinter-free cuts with your circular saw. Designed to be used for rip cuts, cross cuts, and angled cuts up to 48″ long, the Accu-Cut is ideal for use with plywood, MDF, and other large panels.
How Does It Work?
The Accu-Cut works as a guide track for your circular saw. Basically, you would mount your saw to the universal sled, which then fits into and runs along a straight aluminum track. You would only need to make a couple marks on the desired panel, and line up the straight edge to where you want your cut line. After placing the sled on the track, the system then guides the saw in a straight line. The Accu-Cut virtually eliminates the need to see the cut path.
Kreg Accu-Cut Key Features
With portability in mind, Kreg crafted the Accu-Cut system from a lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminum. Ideally, this system can be taken to the panel, rather than having to take the panel to a table saw.
Clamps are generally unnecessary. The Accu-Cut features dual guide strips to hold the track in place, as well as an anti-slip coating. It also has an anti-chip feature; because the guide track keeps the saw in straight line, splintered cuts just don’t really happen. An included Starting Block allows sawing to begin quickly and easily.
Almost any circular saw works with the Accu-Cut system. The Universal Sled houses either right or left blade saws. As an added feature, the sled is also compatible with the Kreg Rip-Cut.
Final Thoughts
The Kreg Accu-Cut system seems like a useful tool, especially for a novice like myself. I wouldn’t have to physically guide the saw along the cut line. And, since the saw is held to a straight line, wobbles and splintered edges are eliminated. Cleaner and straighter cut lines would make me look like I know what I’m doing, which is pretty cool.
I can also see the benefit of this tool for the professional craftsman. Simplicity never hurt anyone, and this system seems like it would save a lot of time. Rather than drawing out a cut line with a straight edge and then trying to guide a saw down that line, you would mark the panel in a couple places, plop the Accu-Cut down, and cut away. The price point seems a little steep, but the system seems simple and helpful.

New Kreg Accu-Cut Circular Saw Track Expansion Pack and XL Kit
In 2017, Kreg introduced the Accu-Cut, a sled and track system that can be used with any standard circular saw. At the time, there was only one track size, 26-1/2″, which combine to allow cuts up to 48″ long.
If you’re a Kreg Accu-Cut user – or would-be user – who’s been ruing the inability to make cuts longer than four feet, your wait is over.
Kreg is now offering an Accu-Cut expansion track that, when connected to your existing track, allows for cuts of up to 100 inches, doubling the length of the existing track with two pairs of small, steel alignment bars, just like the existing pieces.
The Accu-Cut Expansion Pack (KMA2750) includes six track connectors, eight anti-chip/anti-slip guide strips and two 26.5-inch aluminum guide tracks. If you don’t already own the original Accu-Cut, you can purchase the Accu-Cut XL kit (KMA3700), and it includes the four guide tracks and a sled to fit your circular saw.
Price: 89 for the expansion pack, 159 for the XL kit

First Thoughts
The want for longer cut capacity was one of the more frequent Комментарии и мнения владельцев when the Accu-Cut first hit the market. In his original post on the Kreg Accu-Cut, David Frane mentioned that very topic:
“If there’s a downside to Kreg’s system, it’s the limited length of the assembled rail, which is too short for ripping 8′ sheet goods. I asked a Kreg representative about this and he said that for now you would need to use their Rip-Cut edge guide (KMA2675).
They considered offering longer rails, but it would complicate shipping and in-store displays. Kreg has put more than two rails together and it worked for them in testing. If it seems like it will work for customers, they may offer rails and joining pieces for separate purchase, but no decision has been made yet.
It would be great if the option existed to make straight accurate cuts by joining three, four, or more rails, because it would make for a more portable setup.”
Personally, I was pretty excited when the Accu-Cut first came out, and so far, it’s done everything I’ve needed it to do without issue. But there have been a few occasions when I wanted to use it for longer cuts on sheets of plywood. Longer cuts admittedly made me a little nervous when I tried to make them on my small portable table saw.
Like many Kreg products, the expansion pack isn’t exactly cheap — this one will set you back 89 before tax — but I’ve yet to be disappointed with any of my Kreg purchases so chances are, I’ll be picking one of these up once the budget allows a little wiggle room.
Stuart’s Note: While not inexpensive, consider the pricing of other brands’ 55″ or 59″ tracks and guide rails: Festool’s is 145 at Amazon, Makita’s is 75 at Amazon, and DeWALT’s is 65 at Amazon.

One thing at a time! For what it’s worth, Andrew had this post prepped in January, and I’ve been slow to publish.
The other tracks you linked to – aren’t they just for their brand’s tracksaw too? Whereas this works with all circular saws. Makes the price-point a little more compelling. On the other side of the spectrum, I have a clamp guide rail I bought for 8 that also lets me cut a straight edge with my circular saw… From that perspective this is crazy expensive. I realize that’s not exactly the same animal though. This is presumably much more precise and quicker to set up without the clamps (and wouldn’t bend the material like my guide does if I clamp too tightly on thin plywood).
I lived for years with the clamp straight edge routine. It’s ok for one or two cuts but when you’re constantly having to clamp, cut, un-clamp, re-clamp repeat and rinse it gets tiresome and time consuming.
It’s a tough comparison. I used clamp-on guides before buying my track saw. If something like this was available then, I might have bought it first, but I have never regretted buying a track saw. Accu-Cut benefit: You can use it with standard circular saws. Track saw benefit: You gain plunge-cutting functionality, often better dust collection, and some brands have added capabilities as part of a “system.” It’s more of a “good, better, best” comparison, or “most affordable, pricier, and priciest.”
I agree with you. Compared to a full track saw setup, this is a bargain. tracks sold by other brands aren’t even good comparisons because they don’t allow you to use your regular circular saw. You still need to spend hundreds of dollars to buy the actual plunging track saw. I could actually see myself buying this someday.
Thanks Andrew. I picked up the original Kreg track kit to help me cut laminate flooring among other stuff. It definitely could be longer so I’ll be looking to get this extension. My Makita 18v cordless circ saw fitted like a glove so I was happy about that. Of course a dedicated track saw is better but not for a weekend warrior like me.
So gotta ask – what about their new track saw? Thanks to google cards/assistant/now – whatever it’s called – I saw they popped up the other day with a new track saw device. 300 for just the saw and 400 for a saw and track setup. Looks like a bit less capable saw than the mainlines but not much different. Anti-kickback piece like the DeWALT tracksaw. I want to see a hand on with that.
I own an accu-cut. Not very happy with it. It’s kind of flimsy and ads bulk to the flimsyness. Not to mention that the stupid set screws that connect the tracks vibrated out under normal use. And of course the I would recommend using lock tight on those set screws cause they are not fun to find replacements for.
Call Kreg and ask for replacement screws. They have always been very helpful when I called them and even sent out replacement parts free of charge for jigs that broke even though they were several years old.
I bought Kreg’s rip cut guide a couple years ago, and never liked it, attaching my circ saw to it was flat out annoying. Last month went to harbor freight and bought this Pittsburgh clamp guide, and couldn’t be happier with it. https://www.harborfreight.com/50-inch-clamp-and-cut-edge-guide-66581.html
I’d love to see a heads up between this, the new tracksaw system, and the Wen tracksaw. Just spitballing
Sorry I didn’t mean to sound snappy in my first response. I have the empire tool – straight edge device. I got it because it was on sale and cheaper than me making a straight edge device for my project. It works fantastically. Anyway and I thought the accu-cut might be even better but I see alot of negative reviews. Would like to see how their track saw device compares? But just on review on the various edge guide devices might be a good review too. Sort of a here’s another option if you want all the other versatility of a circular saw and how it compares to a moderate tracksaw. etc etc. You don’t see much of that. Incidentally – I lay plywood on foam – use the empire straight edge with appropriate offset to my 24 year old craftsman circular saw – clamp and run. works really well but I still get chip out on the first end of the cut – after that it’s easy peasy.

I’m curious about how much deflection there is with this setup. I like the kreg crosscut jig, I just don’t know how accurate something like the ripcut would be over three or four different pieces of track.
That would be my question too. Love the idea of saving time over clamping a straight edge and don’t have the budget nor the use to justify a dedicated track saw right now. I used a cheaper two piece clamp on saw guide, 48” worked great but add the second pice to make it 96 and it would walk in the middle. Ended up going back to a straight edge and clamps, slower but it works for me. If this one is much more accurate then Im all in.
OH and I’d be happy to test it for you. Or do some tests against the simple EMPIRE straight edge. Or something like that.
I have the 100 ” Tool Guide from Lee Valley that i really like. http://www.leevalley.com/us/wood/page.aspx?p=41707cat=1,240,45313ap=1 I like Kreg stuff too, but not interested at this point.
I just bought an Accucut. Having trouble mounting my Milwaukee M12 Fuel saw to it. Might have to go with the heavier M18 saw. When I tighten the set screws it bends the carriage out of shape forcing the saw to not slide smooth. Also the carriage….kindof sucks. It wobbles on the track. Maybe some low friction tape would fix that.
I agree with Addicted2Red. I just got the Accu-Cut a couple of months ago for a cabinet project. It mounted-up pretty good on my Milwaukee M18, but does have a slight lateral play on the tracks. I just try to keep pressure even on one side or the other and have been pretty satisfied with the cuts. I’ll say I use it more to break-down full plywood sheets and finish them up on the tablesaw with the proper blade. I do admit the Accu-Cut is very accurate w/ a single track, and not bad with two (less than 1/16″ deviation). In the end it’s a nice luxury tool, but for the price I could make a bunch of homemade guides.
